Tally ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your choices.

Information We Collect

When you create an account and use Tally, we collect:

Account information — your first name, last name, username, and email address.
Counter data — the counters you create, their names, counts, and history. You control whether counters are public or private.
Usage data — events such as which features you use, how often, and general interaction patterns. This is collected through PostHog and is used solely to improve the app.
Purchase information — subscription status managed through RevenueCat. We do not store payment card details; those are handled by Apple.
Push notification token — if you grant permission, we store a device token to send you counter update notifications from friends.

How We Use Your Information

To provide and operate the Tally service.
To sync your counters and account across devices.
To send push notifications you have opted into.
To understand how the app is used and improve it over time.
To manage your subscription and validate premium access.

Third-Party Services

Tally uses the following third-party services, each with their own privacy policies:

Supabase — database and authentication hosting. Privacy policy.
PostHog — product analytics (EU region). Privacy policy.
RevenueCat — subscription management. Privacy policy.
Apple — app distribution, push notifications, and in-app purchases. Privacy policy.

Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your data with third parties except the service providers listed above, which are required to operate the app.

Public counters you create may be visible to users you have added as friends. Private counters are only visible to you.

Data Retention

Your data is retained as long as your account is active. You may delete your account at any time by contacting us at support@tallycount.dev, which will result in permanent deletion of your account and associated data.

Children's Privacy

Tally is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your personal data. To exercise these rights, contact us at support@tallycount.dev.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by updating the date at the top of this page. Continued use of Tally after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
